Tweigh/twā/Verb
To find out how heavy (someone or something) is, typically using scales…. and erm Twitter!
I was ‘dossing around’ on Twitter last week and ended up chatting to the lovely Emma Collins (@EmmaCollinsPR) about weight, dieting and the usual.
Before you know it, we’d decided to set ourselves a fitness goal, PUBLICLY!
The only method of weighing myself, Wii Fit, was out of batteries, (and hidden in a mound of dust under the couch!) so whilst at Blackpool Pleasure beach with my friend and the kids, I thought I’d get the public embarrassment thing into practice and stood on the big scales and popped in my 50p!
EEEEEK!
So when I got home, for all to see, I tweeted my weight (cough cough 11st 7lbs) and set a goal to lose a minimum of 1 stone in 12 weeks. I can’t tell you how out of character this is for me… I mean, telling someone everyone how much I weigh! I hope my husband doesn’t read my posts!
Emma wants to shed her post baby lbs and well, me… I’ve always been between 10st 3lbs and 10st 7 lbs – however after having health problems around June this year, an amazing amount of weight has crept up and wrapped itself around my body, clinging on for dear life (mainly my belly and thighs!) tipping me OVER A STONE HEAVIER than I have ever been. DAMN.
So here is it, Fridays are going to be weigh days #Tweigh days!
Each Friday, we will jump on those scales in hope that #Tweigh day will actually give us that drive kick up the ass we need to keep at it!
Now here is the question… are there any other parents out there who need a little push with getting fit or eating healthier? Would you like to join in our little Friday weigh in?!
We could also share recipes, diet tips and exercise tips!
Let me know if anyone else fancies it… Leave your twitter name or email address below!
